Hi, welcome to my law firm’s website. I am Mark Stone, the fictional attorney who discovered the secret of the Kappa File in the book of the same name, by Oliver Sands. By the way, tell everyone about the book. I want be famous. Where was I? Oh yeah, I could not have done it without Daniela Curtis by my side. As you all know, her father was the previous attorney in the case and was murdered. I don’t want to give things away, but suffice to say that she became my paralegal and she and I worked together in getting to the bottom of it. I also want to thank my secretary Joan Couch for her wisdom and advice.
It is true that Chief Judge Francis and I don’t see eye to eye and that he had sent me to jail for contempt of court. However, what doesn’t break you makes you stronger. Joan did her best to make sure I stayed out of jail and that I didn’t tell Judge Francis what I really thought of him. I used to live in New York, but now I practice law in Miami. Someone told me once that after the mafia bosses were sent to jail in New York, many judges there had to file for bankruptcy because the bribery money stopped coming. Why I am telling you this? Well, I’m not accusing Chief Judge Francis of anything. However, I have my doubts about him. After all, this is Miami. Bribery is no big deal. Also, if you read the book, you already know that Judge Francis is always looking for an excuse to send me to jail for contempt of court. Joan thinks that sometime it’s my fault. She and I disagree on this issue.
I know that Judge Francis doesn’t like me. The thing is, I don’t like him either. I know that I will have to deal with him in the future, but right now I want to savor the successful conclusion of the Kappa File case and hopefully go out on a date with Daniela. If only she could make up her mind. I know that she has a boyfriend, who is a very smart and successful FBI agent. He’s bigger and taller than me. He is also handsome. Like me he went to law school. However, after graduating from law school, he became a Green Beret, a fact that he bragged constantly about. I know that I sound jealous. Maybe it’s because I am. I never said I was perfect. I would like to stay and chat, but Joan has made an appointment with a new client for me. Apparently, this case might be even bigger than the Kappa File case. I almost lost my life handling the Kappa file case. I hope this one is less dangerous. However, I won’t know until I meet the client. Therefore, come back to visit me soon and I will let you know what happens or if I am still alive.
